Let It Go

Have you guys seen Frozen yet? Zach took me to see it in theaters for our 10 year dating anniversary and he bought me the DVD for our first anniversary. I love this movie! The reason I bring this up is as I was typing the title of this post I started singing the song to myself, I will admit Idina Menzel sings it much better than I do, surprising I know.

I had a hard time deciding what to write about tonight, don’t get me wrong I have a notebook filled with ideas for blog posts, but I was all over the place picking a topic tonight. So far I have definitely been recipe heavy, so tonight I am bringing up a completely different topic. The theme at work today seemed to be let it go. There are so many things in life that are frustrating but letting things go is often easier said than done.

As someone who definitely holds on to things, this past year I have been learning how important it is to let things go. I was having headaches constantly and brought it up to my Doctor, he ended up sending me to massage therapy for tension, and believe me I had tension everywhere. My massage therapist kept telling me she couldn’t believe how much tension I had for my age. After many conversations I realized I really needed to change things because she could work the tension from my muscles, but only I could keep it from coming back. After being this way for most of my 27 years this is clearly something that is going to take time.

Browsing my favorite website, Pinterest, I found lots of good quotes that I am constantly revisiting, most had to do with letting go of things I have no control over. I have put these quotes everywhere to try to retrain myself, they are saved on my phone, on their own Pinterest board, in my blog notebook as ideas for posts and so many more places.2014-05-23 23.22.27

Even though it is so easy to tell myself I have to let things go actually letting go is so much harder. I will say though I am making progress because although I did dwell on a few things for awhile that happened today as I sit here blogging it doesn’t bother me any more. It’s a little progress, I will take it.

Do you have a hard time letting things go, or do you move on easily?

Clearly I have a hard time letting go, but I am working on it!
